Travel Diary: Hong Kong (2015)

After our Vietnam trip, my grandma and I embarked on the next part of our journey to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong

23/07/2015 - 26/07/2015
I was so excited to arrive in Hong Kong, I had heard  many wonderful things from friends: the food and the shopping ^_____^

I was excited and couldn't wait :)

Hong Kong International Airport

Our first meal in Hong Kong, Congee and fried noodles.

Central Hong Kong, just only a few minutes walk from my hotel.

Keep scrolling down for the review of the hotel we stayed and at deets.

Makeup shopping :)

Wontons and Five Treasure noodles for dinner :)

Hong Kong doesn't lack street displays and decorations :D

Outside Sogo Department store at night

More makeup shopping at SaSa.

I took my grandma to the ladies market in Mongkok. She absolutely loved it here.

This is a great place if you're wanting to find cheap clothing and souvenir gifts. I managed to pick up 2 dresses from here, the clothes here kinda have that asian style fashion - something which I try to avoid. :p

Market food, wasn't that great at all :(

Rainy afternoons in Mongkok.

Tsim Sha Tsui!!!

A great place for shopping ^___^ (and taking tourist photos)

Times Square, Central Hong Kong

This display was massive!!!

So many levels of shops ^___^

Hong Kong style egg waffles from Oddies Foodies :)

It was so good here! Too bad they don't have this type of dessert here back home. However I've found a place that has something similar to that and I'll be heading there very soon to check it out.

Cantonese styled roast pork and duck for dinner.

So here's some photos of the hotel we stayed at.

I'm pretty sure we had a executive king suite, which was rather spacious and comfortable for two people.

Hotel Pennington by Rhombus

13-15 Pennington Street, Causeway BayHong KongChina

My review on tripadvisor about this place:

'Love this little hotel, it's really close to all the shopping precincts (i.e. causeway bay). There's also a subway nearby, which means transportation to the other Hong Kong Islands are quick an easy! Lots of local food places near by, hotel was pretty clean and the staff here are absolutely wonderful. They know there directions too well and were more than happy to assist me to get to my destination by providing me with maps and timetables! The only downside was there was only 2 lifts, and getting to our room on the 23rd floor would require a little wait. Other than that, Hotel Pennington is a great place to stay at. I will be back here for my next trip to Hong Kong in the future.

Thankyou to every at Hotel Pennington who made our stay enjoyable :)

Our last meal in Hong Kong before our flight back home :( Pulled Pork fried rice!!!

Exploring the airport. I thought Singapore airport was amazing already, however it turns out that Hong Kong airport is actually on another level :) It's so freaking massive, with like over 100+ departure gates.

Just a quick meal in Ho Chi Minh City before our flight back to Australia.

And the concludes my holiday :((

I can't wait for my next travels...not to sure of where next, but lets hope I can do some serious savings before I even dream of a holiday :)

Till next time,

Oli
